There are only 8 days left before we say Good-Bye to 2020 and Hello 2021.

The pandemic has indeed brought the world to its knees and has seen almost all industries disrupted. A glimmer of hope is now shining as vaccines are being distributed and rolling out across nations.

However, not all is doom and gloom in 2020, and the effects are not all negative. I have penned down some of my best memorable crypto moments of 2020 here from A–Z. Indeed, there is never a dull moment in crypto.

A–Z most memorable crypto moments of 2020:

A: Affiliate marketing is an additional income stream for 2020.
Affiliate marketing is a technique that some cryptocurrency exchanges will pay their affiliates (in Bitcoin or fiat) if you help to promote their brand amongst your community.

B: Bitcoin halving happened on 18 May 2020 and saw the mining reward drop from 12.5 bitcoins per block to 6.25 bitcoins.

C: COVID-19 has decimated economies and markets across the world in early 2020. With more people working from home, we have seen a surge of longer trading hours on our cryptocurrency exchange.

D: Derivatives trading is a double-edged sword and is often used for both hedging and speculation. Derivatives markets have grown at mammoth levels. However, investors must always exercise caution and wisdom when trading with this financial instrument.

E: Ethereum (ETH) is the second most popular digital asset after Bitcoin — a favourite altcoin by many traders.

F: Facebook’s Libra cryptocurrency stable coin changes its name to Diem on 1st December 2020.

G: Gold and Bitcoin have been identified as safe-havens for 2020. What are your thoughts?

H: How many bitcoins have been mined in 2020?
There are only 21 million bitcoins that can be mined in total. Currently, around 18.5 million bitcoins have been mined, so there is less than three million that have yet to be mined.

I: Institutional organisations such as MicroStrategy, Grayscale, and MassMutual Insurance have aggressively adopted digital assets (Bitcoin) into their mainstream strategies.

J: JPMorgan introduces a digital coin for payments called JPM Coin using blockchain technology.

K: KYC (Know Your Customer)
Exchanges are now enforcing KYCs to verify their clients and assessing them before allowing them to trade on the platform for security purposes.

L: Limit order — is an order to buy or sell at a specific price or better. Traders need to place a limit order when placing a trader. A buy limit order can only be executed at the limit price or lower, and a sell limit order can only be executed at the limit price or higher.

M: Market Cap for Crypto to Grow to $1 Trillion in 2021, according to Bloomberg analysts.

N: Non-fungible tokens (NFTs), also often referred to as crypto-collectibles, art, or even real estate, which has soared in popularity this year.

O: Overbit is an international leading cryptocurrency margin trading exchange for crypto, forex, and commodities.

P: Price prediction. 2020 was a year when Bitcoin’s price prediction was speculated to cross the $20K mark, and it did on 16 December 2020.

Q: Qtum. Qtum is a cryptocurrency that combines Ethereum’s smart contract functionality with bitcoin’s security to create a coin that is suitable for adoption by large organisations.

R: Regulations. There has been a surge in crypto regulations across the board internationally in the past year.

S: Satoshi Nakamoto is the name used by the pseudonymous person/persons who created Bitcoin and the white paper. I guess 2020 will not be the same without Bitcoin’s creation 12 years ago.

T: Tether is the world’s most popular stablecoin, which converts cash into digital currencies.

U: UN launches a blockchain tool with the aim to improve land registry in Afghanistan’s cities.

V: Vitalik Buterin the founder of Ethereum, and successfully launched Ethereum 2.0 on 1st December 2020.

W: Whale. A bitcoin whale is a crypto term that refers to individuals or entities that hold large amounts of bitcoin. When whales move funds on exchanges, it often manipulates the price on the exchange.

X: XRP cryptocurrency is also known as Ripple, is another popular digital asset built for payments.

Y: Yield Farming is known for rocketing the DeFi space in 2020!

Z: Gen Z are digital advocates and are well-educated and politically active. This generation are crypto adopters too.

This sums up the most memorable crypto moments for me, even though the year was filled with unprecedented change, I am hopeful and am optimistic of more good things to come having seen the power of crypto, innovation, and technology all merged into one to give us more freedom in our financial standing.

I am looking forward to 2021 with signs of hope for a better year filled with good health, prosperity, joy, and peace.

Blessed Christmas and Happy 2021 folks! 🎉🎉🎉
